McCurdy Ministries (formerly McCurdy School) has a long history with the United Methodist Church. Although they no longer operate the mission school onsite, they remain a National Mission Institution of the United Methodist Church. More importantly, through ministries such as an onsite preschool, mental health counseling, summer camp, after school and other youth programs, McCurdy is still making a difference! Since becoming a community center in August of 2017, they have expanded the ways they impact the community by providing adult education, high school equivalency, literacy coaching, parenting and grandparenting support groups! We hope you can join us to learn more about this remarkable mission site, its story, its culture and how you can help!
Our three Zoom sessions will be Sunday, February 7, Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday February 11, beginning at 6:30pm (Eastern). There will be a live or recorded staff person from McCurdy at each session.
The virtual mission trip will be co-lead by a small group that has made multiple trips to Espanola (Jason Schwartzman, pastor in the Susquehanna Conference (PA) and McCurdy Volunteer in Mission, Linda Gilgore, McCurdy Volunteer in Mission and Michelle Schwartzman, the Volunteer in Mission Coordinator for the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church).
